Superintendent

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

– Strong leadership skills.

– The ability to properly resolve issues on the project through communication with the project team.
– In-depth knowledge of local, state and federal construction regulations.
– Prior experience as a construction superintendent.

Work Responsibilities Will Include:

– Management of field operations for multiple projects.
– Responsible for daily updates for Sterling project team.
– Mindset and execution of project completion with scheduling and quality in mind.
– Ensuring overall compliance with OSHA and Safety requirements.
– Maintaining a positive work environment for employees, subcontractors, and clients.

Job Qualifications:

– High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory. An Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical), Building Construction, or Architecture degree is preferred.
– Current or previous experience in a Superintendent role is mandatory.
– Valid driver’s license is mandatory.
– Ability to pass background and drug screening is mandatory.

Project Manager & Estimator

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

– Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and oral).
– Working experience with construction project bid documents.
– Solid time-management, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
– Experience providing engineering cost-effective solutions to complex commercial-level construction problems.
– Knowledge of local, state, and federal construction regulations.
– Study and understand scopes of work for sophisticated commercial-level building systems and controls.
– Verify compliance with bid instructions throughout the bid process, obtaining all necessary documentation and submitting a complete bid packet on time.
– Perform quantity take-offs for self-performed work.
– Evaluate subcontractor and vendor bids to confirm the scope of work and materials quoted to meet the bid documents and project requirements.
– Prepare contract startup templates, permits, subcontracts, and PO’s.
– Generate a master schedule for projects with input from the executive team.
– Review and approve subcontractor invoices monthly and prepare owner invoices based on work completed to date.
– Manage projects to completion while maintaining quality, cost, and schedule.

Work Responsibilities Will Include:

– Knowledge of local, state, and federal construction regulations Project Estimator’s Responsibilities.
– Study and understand scopes of work for sophisticated commercial-level building systems and controls.
– Verify compliance with bid instructions throughout the bid process, obtaining all necessary documentation and submitting a complete bid packet on time.
– Perform quantity take-offs for self-performed work.
– Evaluate subcontractor and vendor bids to confirm the scope of work and materials quoted to meet the bid documents and project requirements.
– Prepare contract startup templates, permits, subcontracts, and PO’s.
– Generate a master schedule for projects with input from the VP of Operations and Project Superintendent(s).
– Review and approve subcontractor invoices monthly and prepare owner invoices based on work completed to date.
– Manage multiple projects simontaneously to 100% completion while maintaining quality, cost, and schedule.
– Maintaining a positive work environment for employees, subcontractors, and clients.

Job Qualifications:

– An Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical), Building Construction, or Architecture degree is preferred.
– Current or previous experience in a Project Manager, Estimator, or Internship is preferred.
– Valid driver’s license is mandatory.
– Ability to pass background and drug screening is mandatory.

Intern

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

– Have a junior or senior standing at an accredited 4-year university OR be pursuing a master’s degree
– Major in (civil, construction, mechanical) engineering, construction management, building science, or architecture
– Have a minimum 3.0 GPA
– Have a reliable place to live in or near the Greater Memphis Area for the duration of the program
– International Students: Must have an active visa status that allows work in the US.

During the internship, you will work alongside the office and field teams with the opportunity to:

– Participate in the bid process
– Assist with project close-out
– Attend site visits, OAC meetings, and other events
– Assist with site layout, daily reports, and safety assessments
– Complete 2-week look ahead schedules and RFIs
– Lead daily meetings and toolbox talks-

*This internship is a full-time work commitment. Up to 8 weeks of the internship period may be spent on an active jobsite. Performance of the required duties will involve the physical ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time, climb ladders, safely navigate an active worksite, and lift up to 75 pounds.
